A story told by a very particular guest.
Troplong Mondot is my universe. Through the valleys and across the hills, my white silhouette appears amongst the vines. Depending on the season, I can either be found requesting a stroke from the grape pickers or teasing the horses, hard at work.
Then back to the gardens which surround the chateau. Back to my kennel, a small pen next to the hen’s. But the truth is, I never stay there for long. There is so much to explore. So much to see, smell, hear.

I like to sneak under the hedges to smell the earth, until I come face to face with a hedgehog. Then I run off as quickly as possible, jumping in vain after the butterflies, or sliding through a carpet of wild cyclamen. I’ll then cross the orchard and slip into the vegetable garden. I might even get to see the Chef when he comes to pick his herbs or vegetables.
With my nose in the air, my ears pricked up, I envy the squirrels passing from tree to tree. Apparently, some of them are more than a hundred years old, like these oaks and this arbutus whose shade I appreciate so much. So much natural beauty: the magnolia and its immense glazed leaves, the flamboyant maple tree in front of the setting sun, the cedar covered with thousands of iridescent spangles on misty mornings and so much more.
Life here is a constant enchantment, punctuated by the song of birds and sunlight. Both immutable and forever changing.
